A round sapphire sits at the center of a small starburst, six polished yellow gold petals radiating out from the setting with pairs of round diamonds filling the gaps between them. That alternation of warm metal and white stone around a cool blue center is the whole idea, and it packs a good deal of design into a 10 millimeter face.
The sapphire reads as a medium cornflower blue rather than an inky one, which lets the yellow gold work as contrast instead of competition. Gold claws take the stone at four points and stand just proud of the petals.
