Each drop is a pear cut emerald held by three claws so it hangs point up, and above it a smaller pear of pavé diamonds forms the surmount, the same outline turned upside down. A plain open link joins the two, which lets the emerald swing on its own rather than moving as one rigid piece. The green is soft and faintly milky rather than glassy, and that is what carries the color at conversational distance.
14K white gold runs through both parts, bright and cool with nothing to warm the green. The 0.06 carats of diamond is divided across the two surmounts in fine pavé, enough to catch light at the lobe and lead the eye down to the 2.18 carats of emerald below. The pear itself reads broad rather than slim, nearly as wide across the base as it is long, so the pair carries visible weight within a 18 by 7 millimeter drop.
