A faceted cushion opal sits at the middle of each drop and is ringed twice. The inner ring is a tight halo of small colorless zircons pressed directly against the opal, a cool bright edge that separates it from everything beyond. The outer ring is a wider cluster of round stones alternating in color, deep blue and warm orange sapphires with pale green among them, and four more round opals set at the compass points so the milky white repeats outward from the center.
Read as a whole it is a double halo roughly 17 millimeters across, dense with color but ordered rather than scattered. The opal centers show play of color as the earring swings, green and blue moving across a milky body while the surrounding stones stay fixed in their own tones. Rhodium plated silver holds it all in bright claw settings, and the drops hang from plain French ear wires at 37.5 millimeters.
