All Gemstones are Natural in Origin
Two oval opal cabochons sit at an angle to one another where the shank crosses, and each one carries its own full halo of small round diamonds. All forty six of those diamonds are in the two frames; the shoulders are left plain and polished, which keeps the brightness concentrated at the head instead of running down the band.
A cabochon returns light as a broad rolling sheet rather than as separate flashes, and here the play of color moves green through orange as the ring turns. The bypass keeps the two stones offset rather than paired, one riding slightly higher than the other, so the head draws a diagonal across the finger instead of a symmetrical line. Ring size 7 US. The two cabochons were matched for this ring alone and the crossover was not repeated.
