A round opal cabochon hangs at the foot of this pendant in four yellow gold claws, and the mount above it is a straight narrow bar set with a vertical row of small round diamonds running from the stone all the way up to the chain. What you get is a thin line of white light with a soft dome of color at the bottom of it.
The opal is not faceted, so it gives back an even glow across the whole surface instead of flashes, with faint warm tints drifting through the milky base as the pendant turns. At 17 by 6 millimeters it stays narrow at the throat and hangs from a fine cable chain.
