Peridot on both faces. The ovals carry around the inside of each hoop as well as the outside, so the green does not disappear when the earring rotates. They are set east to west in slim claws, running the whole circuit with only narrow metal bridges showing between one setting and the next.
Peridot holds its yellow green under lamplight as readily as under daylight, and at three and four tenths carats across twenty stones there is enough of it here to register as color rather than as sparkle. The hoops measure 24.4 by 3.3 millimeters, close with a hinged click at the top, and carry small pierced scrollwork cut into the tube behind the hinge.
