Each drop is built in three concentric rings. A pink opal cabochon sits at the middle, oval and domed, returning one even sweep of soft light rather than separate flashes. Around it a close ring of round blue sapphires reads almost black wherever the light does not reach it, and around that a wider ring of small white topaz scallops the outer edge into a fluted flower. The sparkle is arranged entirely around the opal, not above it.
The order from the middle out is deliberate: matte pink, then dark blue, then colorless brilliance, with rhodium plated silver drawn between each ring to keep them apart. Ninety-eight stones across the pair. At 34.5 millimeters on lever backs the flowers hang just below the lobe and stay facing forward.
