The rubellite is a cushion cut, squared off and gripped at the corners, in a pink that runs deep toward red without ever going dark. It is set low and nearly level with the shoulders instead of raised above them, so from above the ring reads as one continuous line interrupted by color at the middle.
The diamonds do not surround the stone. They run in tapered rows down each shoulder, widest where they meet the setting and narrowing as the band falls toward the finger, which pushes the eye inward to the center. At size 7 the head stays compact and sits close to the hand.
