Each earring hangs from a long slim yellow gold wire, with one round diamond claw set below the hook as a link, and then the drop: a pear shaped openwork frame with an oval blue sapphire held inside it. Small round diamonds are pave set along both shoulders of that frame, tapering as they climb toward the point, while the lower half of the pear is left plain and polished, so the top of the drop is bright and the bottom is one clean curve of gold.
The sapphire reads as a deep inky blue that darkens further where the facets fold under, and the warm frame around it is what keeps the outline visible at all. Overall the drop is 23 millimeters long and 8 across, narrow enough to swing freely. Sapphire accounts for 0.74 carats and the diamonds for 0.08.
