One oval blue sapphire hangs at the bottom of each earring, held in four prongs beneath a slim gold tone bar that is itself set with a short line of small diamonds. The blue is deep and even across the whole face of the stone, and the warm plating around it does what white metal would not, pushing the blue forward rather than matching it.
At 26 by 8 millimeters the pair hangs just clear of the lobe: the diamond bar reads as a bright stem at the top and the sapphire carries all the color at the bottom.
