The drop is built in four parts from the top down: a plain round gold disc at the post, two bezel set round diamonds as the links below it, then an open angular frame of 14K yellow gold, and an oval tanzanite prong set to float in the middle of that opening. A shallow arc of small diamonds is pave set across the bottom of the frame, under the stone rather than around it.
Tanzanite swings between violet and blue as it turns, and the warm yellow outline is there to hold that cool color. 17 by 9 millimeters at the ear.
