This pendant is built in three articulated parts. A pavé set bail leads down to an open oval link outlined in its own small round diamonds, and from that link hangs the drop: an elongated cushion tanzanite of 2.34 carats inside a single halo. Because the three sections move independently of one another, the stone swings and turns instead of lying rigid against the chest.
The tanzanite is cut long, and its halo follows that rectangle with softened corners, so nothing in the outline is circular. 14K white gold runs through all three sections and holds the blue cool and forward with the violet sitting underneath it. The 0.26 carats of diamond is spread thin across bail, link and halo, outlining the structure rather than massing at any one point. At 25 by 11 millimeters the drop reads long and narrow at the neckline.
