An elongated cushion tanzanite of 3.24 carats sits at the middle of a rounded rectangular plaque, gripped at the corners by four yellow gold claws. Two concentric rows of round diamonds surround it as a double halo set in white metal, and a thin band of yellow gold runs around the very outside as a border. The bail is not left plain either: it is a flat tapered plate, pavé set along both edges, so the line of small stones carries up past the drop toward the chain.
The two-tone reading is the whole idea. White metal sits directly against the stone and keeps the blue clean, while the gold border and claws warm the piece at its outer edge, so the tanzanite is never tinted by the metal it actually touches. With 0.32 carats of diamond across a 25 by 13 millimeter plaque, this is a pendant with real presence at the neckline rather than an accent.
