A cushion cut tanzanite of 3.90 carats anchors the bottom of this pendant, ringed by a tight halo of small round diamonds. The bail above it is the interesting part: not a plain loop but a tapered plaque set with pavé diamonds, so the drop reads as a single wedge of white gold narrowing upward, with the blue stone as its base. The diamonds total 0.36 carats across halo and bail together.
At 20 by 13 millimeters the piece is compact, sitting just below the hollow of the throat on a fine white gold chain that all but disappears against the skin. Tanzanite shows blue and violet in the same stone depending on the angle, and at this size the shift is easy to catch as the wearer turns.
