A pear cut tanzanite of 5.14 carats hangs at the base of this pendant, broad through the shoulders and drawn to a point, shifting between blue and violet as it turns under light. A single close row of round diamonds follows the entire outline of the pear. Above the drop, four pave set petals form a small butterfly that carries it, so the pendant reads as two linked parts rather than one solid shape.
Diamonds total 0.36 carats between the halo and the butterfly. The whole hangs 32 by 14 millimeters, articulated at the join so the tanzanite swings slightly, and the cool 18K white gold keeps every eye on the blue.
