The tanzanite is a trillion, a triangle with softly rounded sides, and the halo of small diamonds around it follows that outline exactly rather than settling into an oval. Three claws hold the stone at its corners and the white gold shank sweeps up asymmetrically, passing behind the setting on one side.
The triangular face is what makes this one worth looking at twice; the color still moves from violet to blue across it as the hand turns. Sized at 7 US.
