The tanzanite is a pear of 2.14 carats, set point up and ringed by a halo of small round diamonds that follows the teardrop outline the whole way around, tightening neatly at the tip. More diamonds continue down both shoulders in a bead set line, so the 0.16 carats of white stones do double duty, outlining the stone and leading the eye up to it.
14K white gold holds everything at one temperature, cool against the violet blue, and the halo is raised just enough to give the pear presence without lifting the profile far off the finger. The shank narrows toward the back where the diamond line stops. Sized 7 US.
