The tanzanite here is bezel set rather than clawed: a milgrained yellow gold rim runs the whole way around the 2.32 carat oval and holds it flush, so the blue sits inside an unbroken gold outline. From that rim the setting opens outward into a pierced gold gallery of small geometric panels, every one edged in milgrain, and finishes in a scalloped outer border where the round diamonds sit, one to a scallop, each in its own beaded collet.
The diamonds carry on down both shoulders in the same scalloped rhythm before the 14K yellow gold band runs plain to the finger. The two-tone effect comes from those white collets set against the warm gold openwork behind them. The 0.14 carats of diamond is modest in weight but spread across a wide outline, which is why the ring covers considerably more of the hand than the carat figures alone would suggest. Sized at 7 US.
