The center stone is round, cut as a brilliant, and at 2.90 carats it fills its halo completely. Brilliant faceting sends the color out in short bright flashes rather than the broad flat planes a step cut would give, so the blue reads livelier and more restless across the crown. A single halo of round diamonds encircles it, finished with a fine beaded edge, and pavé carries on in one row down each shoulder before the band goes plain.
14K white gold throughout keeps the blue forward and lets the violet sit underneath instead of being drawn out by warm metal. The 0.28 carats of diamond is divided between the halo and those shoulder rows, enough to outline the stone brightly and lead the eye a short way toward the finger. Sized at 7 US, it sits close to the hand.
