A cushion cut tanzanite of 4.38 carats sits square in the head with its corners softened, the crown faceted finely enough that the blue breaks into small planes and tips toward violet as the hand turns. Two full rows of round diamonds circle it in a cushion shaped double halo that follows the outline of the stone rather than rounding it off, and a beaded rim finishes the outer edge so the frame ends deliberately instead of just stopping.
The 0.42 carats of diamond is spread across those two rows, which is why no single stone in the halo stands out. The halo itself is set in white metal while the four claws and the shank are 14K yellow gold, and that split does the work: cool white right against the tanzanite, warm gold everywhere beyond it. The band runs plain into the head with nothing at the shoulders, which stops a face this wide from reading top heavy. Sized at 7 US.
