Two metals meet on each of these studs. The halo of round diamonds is set in white, forty stones across the pair with their claws worked individually so the rim comes up jagged and almost starlike, while the four claws that actually grip the tanzanite are yellow gold and land as warm dots directly on the blue.
That collision of warm and cool is the whole idea. Yellow beside a violet blue stone pushes the color toward its blue end, and the ring of white diamonds between them keeps the two from muddying each other. The ovals measure 11 by 9 millimeters and carry 2.30 carats together, with 0.30 carats of diamond in the surround.
