An oval opal cabochon holds the center here, its pale body showing green and blue play of color that shifts with the angle of the hand. A fine pave line rings the cabochon, and outside that the kyanites take over: four emerald cut stones set square to the compass points, four ovals filling the diagonals, all of them in a saturated blue that surrounds the opal completely.
The kyanite weight of 7.44 carats is spread across those eight stones, which is why the surround reads broad rather than deep. Small round accents pack the gaps between them and keep the outline of the head circular. Sterling silver carries the whole arrangement, and at size 7.25 the ring covers most of the finger's width and stands well off it.
