A round cabochon of peach moonstone sits at the center, 3.94 carats, domed and unfaceted, so the color arrives as a soft apricot glow instead of as sparkle. Twelve pear cut tanzanites ring it, 1.66 carats between them, each set with its point turned inward toward the stone and showing the blue to violet shift the species is known for.
Between the pears, triangular plates of sterling silver radiate outward like rays, and each one carries a tiny round white topaz, 0.08 carats across the whole piece. The result at the hand is a sunburst: warm orange at the core, cool blue and violet around it, bright white metal doing the work in between. The band is plain polished silver, kept narrow so the head reads as large as it is. Ring size 7 US.
