Six pear cut peridots to an earring, three above and three below, their points meeting at the center like two small fans set base to base. A marquise shaped panel of white topaz runs horizontally between the two groups, and the same white stones outline the openwork lobes that curl around the green on either side.
Read as a whole it is a figure eight lying on its side, pierced through in four places, which gives the earring a lot of surface without much bulk behind it. Twenty-two by eighteen millimeters fills the lobe end to end, and the rhodium plated frame stays cool against the green.
