Marquise cut peridots are gathered into six petal flowerheads and linked one after another around the neck, each cluster built on a round stone at its core. The flowers graduate, tightest at the back and widest across the collarbone, and the front finishes in a short drop that hangs one last flower below the center.
Forty three carats is a great deal of peridot, but it is divided among dozens of small stones, so the necklace stays supple and moves as a chain rather than a collar. Sterling silver prongs hold each petal and step back, leaving the pale apple green almost unbroken from clasp to drop.
