Two round brilliant pink sapphires sit in four claw white gold baskets, nothing behind them and nothing around them. The pink is on the lighter, lilac side, and the cool white metal holds it there rather than pushing it toward red, so the color stays clear at the lobe.
Each stone measures 6 by 6 millimeters, which is enough face to register as color from a conversational distance while still sitting flat against the ear. The claws are trimmed low over the crown and the baskets are open beneath, letting light in from underneath.
