Sixteen round pink topazes are prong set at the tips of a branching gold framework rather than strung in a line. The front forks into short milgrained twigs that carry the stones at three different sizes and at staggered heights, so the front spreads into a loose V that widens as it drops toward the base of the throat.
The color is vivid, closer to magenta than to pastel, and the yellow gold plating throws it forward instead of cooling it. Behind the branches the necklace runs as a plain rolo chain to a lobster clasp, and at 18 inches the whole spray sits just below the collarbone.
