A pear cut rhodolite garnet, deep red turning purple toward the point, is ringed by a close halo of small round diamonds and hung from a bail set with more of them. Rose gold at the prongs and bail warms the red, where a white metal would have pushed it colder.
The pear shape does the work of the outline, narrow at the top and full at the base, which settles neatly in the hollow of the throat. At 23 by 12 millimeters there are 2.98 carats of garnet to 0.28 carats of diamonds, all carried on a rose gold chain.
