An oval rhodolite garnet of 1.55 carats lies across the middle of this ring in the raspberry red that separates rhodolite from the browner garnets. It is not encircled. The eight white zircons are grouped four to a side, stacked into scalloped clusters that press in from east and west and leave the top and bottom of the garnet open.
That arrangement makes the ring read wide rather than tall. Rhodium plated sterling silver runs out into a broad band with fine beading worked along the shoulders, and the white zircons, 1.60 carats together, actually outweigh the garnet they flank.
