Each drop opens with a pear cut amethyst at the lobe, its crown worked in a checkerboard pattern that breaks the light into small squares rather than long flashes. A round blue topaz, bezel set in a slim collar, links that stone to a second and considerably larger pear amethyst below. The purple runs deep and even through all four stones, and the cool blue interruption at the midpoint keeps the pair from reading as one solid block of color.
The links are articulated, so the lower pears swing free of the upper ones as the head turns. At 33 millimeters they fall just past the lobe. Rhodium plated silver keeps the metal quiet and cool behind the purple.
