All Gemstones are Natural in Origin
The amethyst is outsized for the setting it sits in: a long oval laid north to south along the finger, its crown cut into a checkerboard grid of small squares that splits the purple into dozens of separate panes instead of pooling it into one flash. Four heavy claws hold it, one at each tip and one at each side, and nothing else touches the stone.
The white topaz are not a frame. They gather into two small scrolled leaves of pave, one at the upper left shoulder and one at the lower right, exactly where the shank crosses beneath the stone. That leaves both long sides of the amethyst completely bare, which is a large part of why it reads as big as it does. On a size 6 the oval covers the finger nearly edge to edge.
