The rubellite is an emerald cut, laid east to west across the finger rather than upright, and a tight halo of small round diamonds follows its rectangular outline exactly. Set on its side this way the stone spans the full width of the band and makes 2.58 carats look wider than the number suggests.
Long step cut facets run down the length of the table and pull the pink-red toward raspberry at the middle of the stone. The 14K yellow gold band is plain and slim with nothing on the shoulders, so warm metal meets the cool white halo directly and the head reads two-tone.
