Each wing of this butterfly is filled with small round rubies, four and a bit carats of them across the pair, packed closely enough that the wings read as solid red at any distance. Tiny white zircons trace the outer edge of each wing and run down the body, drawing a fine bright line around the color. The pendant is fixed to its chain rather than hung from a bail, so it sits flat and stays centered at 34 by 20 millimeters.
