Each earring opens with a small pear shaped plaque of pave white diamonds set flat against the lobe, then drops a pear cut ruby from a hinged gold link so the stone swings on its own. Twenty four diamonds across the pair hold that upper accent bright, and the ruby below carries nearly all of the weight.
Three yellow gold prongs grip the ruby and leave the pavilion open, which lets the red read full rather than shadowed. At seventeen millimeters the drop stays close to the lobe, short enough to sit under hair and still show color when the head turns.
