This pair is built two-tone. Each oval ruby is gripped by four yellow gold claws, but the diamond halo around it is mounted in white metal, so the warm gold reads only as four small points of contact at the corners of the stone while the frame of light stays cool and neutral.
The halo stones step larger and smaller in turn, which softens the outer edge into a scalloped ring rather than a smooth one. Eleven by nine millimeters keeps the whole thing close to the lobe.
