An oval ruby of 0.84 carats is claw set in yellow gold at the centre, ringed by a scalloped halo of small diamonds set in white metal. That two tone pairing is the interesting part: white metal keeps the 0.08 carats of diamond looking bright and separate, while the yellow gold prongs, bail and chain hold warmth around the red.
The halo is worked in a rope twist outline rather than a plain circle, which gives the edge some texture. It measures 21 by 11 mm in 10K yellow gold.
