A marquise cut ruby of 1.38 carats runs the full length of this pendant, bezel set in yellow gold and ringed by a marquise shaped halo of small diamonds. The halo repeats the outline of the stone instead of rounding it off, which keeps the whole pendant narrow at 23 by 11 millimeters and lets it hang as a vertical line at the neck. The diamonds sit in pale metal inside a yellow gold frame, so there are two distinct borders around the ruby, one bright and one warm.
