Ten oval rubies are massed across the top of this ring in three staggered rows, three at the front, four through the middle, three behind, so the cluster reads as one continuous field of red rather than a row of separate stones. Their total weight is 2.18 carats.
Each stone is held on its own claws, and the shared prongs between them sit low enough that the rubies almost touch. Shaped sterling silver panels with a beaded edge close the cluster at either end, and the band tapers from there into a plain polished shank. On the hand it covers the width of the finger. Ring size 9 US.
