Pear cut rubies make up these studs, each stone set point up in three white gold claws, one at the tip and two spanning the base. The red is strongest through the middle of each pear and pales toward the outer edge where the facets shallow out, and the cut presents a broad flat face to the viewer rather than a high domed crown.
Cool metal against a warm stone is the whole idea in this version: the white claws read as three small bright marks at the corners and otherwise leave the outline alone. Eight by five millimeters keeps them tight to the lobe, 1.57 carats across the pair.
