Set in yellow gold the same pear outline reads warmer: three gold claws grip each stone, one at the point and two at the wide base, and the metal picks the red up rather than standing away from it. The rubies run a bright pink red, most saturated at the core of each pear and lighter across the shoulders.
Each stone measures eight by five millimeters, 1.57 carats for the two, angled point up so the narrow end sits toward the top of the lobe. Nothing else is set into the earring; the outline of the stone and three small points of gold are the entire design.
