Pear cut rather than round, these rubies are set point up in three claw yellow gold heads, so each stone tapers toward the top of the lobe and widens below. The shape carries the red across a broader face than a round of the same weight would, and at 8 by 6 millimeters they fill the ear without dropping past it.
Warm 10K yellow gold sits directly against the red and deepens it. The claws are kept fine and there is no gallery or frame around the stone, so the pair reads as two blocks of color at the ear.
