An oval smoky quartz with a checkerboard crown anchors each of these studs, circled by a single row of small round diamonds that follows the oval all the way around. The prongs holding the quartz are darkened so they read as shadow rather than metal, and the brown shifts between amber and something close to coffee depending on how the light falls.
At 12 by 10 millimeters the pair sits flat and close to the lobe. The diamond weight is divided across the halo, which keeps the outline bright and lets the quartz hold the center.
