The oval Swiss blue topaz is bezel set at the crown of a domed bombe ring, and everything around it is enamel. Blue, teal and deep green fields radiate outward from the bezel as pointed petals and chevrons, each fenced by a raised silver line, so the shoulders read as a kaleidoscope rather than a plain band. The pattern carries all the way down both sides and stops only where the shank narrows to plain polished silver.
Swiss blue is the clear, open end of the blues that topaz shows, and dropping it into the middle of all that enamel leaves one transparent point in a field that is otherwise completely opaque. The dome is broad and rounded, so on a size 6 it fills the finger from knuckle to knuckle.
