Each earring holds an oval Swiss blue topaz in a plain silver bezel, and that bezel sits at the middle of a domed oval frame of glossy color: deep blue panels alternating with teal, every one divided from the next by a raised silver rib so the surround reads as a ring of pointed petals around the stone.
The topaz is the lightest and clearest blue in the piece, which is what keeps it from sinking into the darker color worked around it. At 13 by 12 millimeters the pair is close to round in the ear and sits flat against the lobe.
