Ten pear cut Swiss blue topazes radiate from a round brilliant center, prong set in white metal so the face of the ring opens like a blossom across the finger. The petals sit in two slightly overlapping tiers rather than a single flat ring, which lifts the outer points clear of the shank and gives the flower depth from the side as well as from above.
The blue holds steady from the center out to the tips, and the bright rhodium plating keeps it cool rather than warm. A plain tapered shank carries the whole cluster without competing with it, and the open prong gallery lets light reach the pavilions from beneath. In size 6 US the cluster covers most of the width of the finger.
