A round Swiss blue topaz sits raised at the middle of this flower head and eleven marquise cut topaz radiate from it as petals, each claw set and tilted slightly outward so the bloom curves instead of lying flat. Twelve stones, 8.80 carats, all in the same light blue, with the center reading a shade deeper for no reason other than its greater depth.
From the side the head stands well clear of the finger on an open gallery, the petal collets carried on tapered supports that leave the space beneath them empty. The shank narrows to a plain rounded band in rhodium plated sterling silver. In a size 6 this is a full cocktail profile, high and wide across the knuckle.
