Round Swiss blue topaz runs along the outer face of each hoop and then back along the inner face, shared prong set the whole way, so the blue stays continuous whichever way the hoop turns at the ear. The stones are uniform in size and closely spaced, which gives the circle an even band of color instead of a sequence of separate highlights.
Sterling silver shows mainly as the small claws that divide one stone from the next, with a hinged catch at the top. At 26 by 3 millimeters this is an everyday hoop, close enough to the ear to sit under hair.
