A marquise cut Swiss blue topaz, long and sharply pointed at both ends, carries the whole pendant. The frame is not plain: scrolled openwork curls into the silver above and below the stone, filling the points of the marquise with tracery, and a fluted bail carries the drop onto a fine cable chain. The blue is bright and even, the long facets running the length of the stone toward each tip.
Thirty two millimeters of pendant on a 16 inch chain, which puts it high and close at the throat rather than down toward the sternum.
