Four bands of color stack up in this ring top. The Swiss blue topaz sits in a gold plated scrollwork gallery, that gallery is ringed by a bright white metal border, and outside the border comes a double halo of black spinel in darkened settings.
Read from the outside in it goes black, then white, then gold, then blue, which is a great deal of contrast for a 1.88 carat center stone and the reason the ring looks bigger than it measures. The gallery is pierced right through, so light gets under the topaz. Size 7.
