A single emerald cut Swiss blue topaz of 5.58 carats sits lengthwise along the finger, held by four double claws at the corners. The step cut runs long parallel facets down the table, so the stone reads as broad flat planes of blue rather than scattered sparkle.
Behind it the shank splits, each shoulder opening into two slender rows of small round white topaz that flank a wide polished centre bar in sterling silver. The effect is a solitaire with weight to it: the head is large, the pave lines are fine, and the bright silver between them keeps the whole thing lit. Ring size 9 US.
